On New Year’s Eve, we met Clay and Andrew, who had taken a taxi from the airport in Phuket. We showed them to their room at the Ao Nang Palace, gave them a quick tour of the surrounding area, and by 2:00 pm were on our way for the sunset snorkeling excursion that we had arranged. We traveled by longtail boat for the first half of the trip to three snorkeling sites.

It’s no secret that my greatest aspiration in life is to be a professional beach bum. And though I hold tremendous loyalty to my home surf, Litchfield Beach in Pawleys Island, South Carolina, and for a variety of reasons believe it to be one of the best beaches in the world, I must say that the beaches in Krabi, Thailand are right up there. Outside of my strong opinion, beach bums of the world agree: Krabi’s limestone cliffs, Kool-Aid blue seas, and sugar crystal sand are magical and enchanting. But don’t expect them to be 100% clean and pristine; this is still Thailand after all, where everything comes in a plastic bag. Aiya, while in Hong Kong Laura booked a ticket for me to join her in Cambodia. For the past four days I’ve been following Joey around on a turbo tour of Hong Kong and the New Territories. I’ve got great b-boy posts in the works that I’ll put up as soon as I can find a place to sit for more than fifteen minutes. So much travel writing in the works, but I’m so behind. I’ve got the notes handwritten; just need some solid time at a computer to get them typed up and edited for the site.
The countdown to departure back to the States continues. Lots and lots of stuff to finish before that trip happens. This trip to Cambodia to see Ankor Wot will be the last trip.

Today I went rock climbing for the first time.
Krabi, Thailand is known for its limestone cliffs.
It was memorable, but I am beat from just four climbs!! My arms feel like wet noodles.
